Four Ohio University graduate students and a professor went to Oklahoma during the chilly spring of 2010 to present their original research at shiny Gaylord Hall on the sprawling campus of Oklahoma University.

OU – the other OU – hosted the annual Midwinter Convention for the Association for Education in Journalism and Mass Communication, the nation’s largest group of academics devoted to the teaching and research of journalism.

The convention is sponsored by GEIG, or the Graduate Education Interest Group, one of more than a dozen divisions and groups that are part of the umbrella AEJMC.

Ohio University routinely sends several graduate students and professors to the convention, which includes a reception by the host school and numerous panels at which research is presented. In 2010, OU sent four students accompanied by Dr. Carson Wagner, who specializes in teaching theory.
